The Reality
Buying a Yacht Shouldn't Feel Like This
Three things we hear from almost every buyer who comes to us.
“None of them actually fit.”
You’ve visited Monaco, Fort Lauderdale, Cannes. You’ve scrolled endless listings. Yet the yacht that matches how you’ll really use it doesn’t exist on any broker’s shelf – because it’s not about the brochure, it’s about you.
“The brochure lies about reality.”
A €500k yacht costs €50-75k a year to operate – before the unexpected fails. Engine hours. Watermaker. AC in the tropics. Hull condition after two seasons. What you don’t verify, you pay for.
“Navigating the deal, alone.”
Market comps. Negotiation. Flag strategy. Survey findings. Legal frameworks vary by country. Most buyers face this complexity alone – or with a broker whose commission comes from the seller.
There’s a better way to do this. ↓
Our Difference
A Different Kind of Yacht Brokerage
Independent by design. Grounded in operations. Built around what you actually need.
Curated for you
We hunt globally – new and pre-owned – so you evaluate 3 real options, not 300 listings. Every yacht we present matches criteria you’ve validated. No fillers, no brochure teasers.
Independent by design
Brand-agnostic. No shipyard partnerships, no kickbacks, no conflicts. Our recommendations serve your interests – not our commissions, not our suppliers.
Grounded in real operations
We work daily with 41 boats running across the Caribbean – and the captains and operators who run them. We hear what they tell us about every model: vibrations, maintenance realities, specs that matter beyond the brochure. That’s the kind of insight no brochure can give you.
How We Work With You
Beauty Charters acts as your independent yacht acquisition partner. From the first call to your first voyage, we orchestrate every step of the process – and we coordinate the right specialists from our trusted network of surveyors, legal experts and operators to execute it.
You get a single point of contact, full transparency on fees, and a curated network behind every decision.
Full process and fees disclosed at the discovery call.
Our Method
How We Find Your Yacht
Rigorous. Objective. Independent. The method that matches you with the right yacht – not the one that pays us best.
Deep listening
We start with an in-depth conversation to understand how you’ll actually use your yacht – cruising patterns, crew preferences, budget realities, non-negotiables.
Global sourcing
Every viable yacht on the market — new and pre-owned — through our trusted international network.
Independent evaluation
For each shortlisted yacht, an objective technical assessment: hull, systems, maintenance history, resale outlook. We recommend against yachts that don’t fit — even when it costs us the deal.
Presentation & decision
A curated shortlist of 3-5 yachts with comparative matrix. You visit what matters. We advise. You decide. No pressure. No rush.

Meet the Team
Led by Elena & Sebastien
Elena and Sebastien founded Beauty Charters in 2005 with a simple conviction: premium yachting should be about the experience on board, not the transaction on paper. With 20 years of experience in the Caribbean yachting industry, they now apply the same operator’s rigor to yacht acquisitions.
Every yacht she operates daily is a school. Every captain she works with is a second opinion. Every guest feedback is market intelligence — on what actually makes a yacht right for its owner.

Evaluation
What Makes a Yacht Right for You
Five criteria we use to evaluate every yacht – beyond the brochure.
A yacht’s hull is its structural backbone. Osmosis, stress cracks, or poor repairs compromise safety and resale for decades.
A well-documented logbook is worth more than paint. Skipped services accumulate silently into major costs.
In the Mediterranean or Caribbean, these aren’t optional. A yacht that can’t produce water or cool cabins in 35°C is unusable 8 months a year.
VAT status, cruising permits, charter eligibility depend on flag. The wrong flag can cost 20% of purchase value.
Brand reputation, production volume, and market demand determine depreciation. Some builds hold 80% value after 10 years — others 50%.
Caribbean specifics - if you plan to sail here
Shallow draft for island-hopping · Tropical AC & ventilation · Hurricane-season contingencies · Watermaker capacity.
FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
The 6 questions we hear most often from buyers.
How are you paid? Do I pay you, or the seller?
In standard buyer’s agent arrangements, our commission is paid from the seller’s existing broker commission (co-brokerage) – so our service is typically at no direct cost to you. When a yacht has no listing broker, we agree a transparent fee with you upfront. Either way, the full structure is disclosed at the discovery call.
What's the difference between a buyer's agent and a listing broker?
A listing broker represents the seller – their legal duty is to get the highest price. A buyer’s agent represents you – our duty is to find the right yacht at the right terms. In a co-brokerage deal both are compensated from the same commission, at no extra cost to you.
How long does the whole process typically take?
Most acquisitions close within 30 to 90 days – from first viewing to handover. Timeline depends on yacht availability, survey scheduling, and any financing or flag decisions. We keep you informed at every step.
What are the real yearly operating costs I should budget for?
As a rule of thumb, plan for 10% to 15% of the yacht’s purchase value per year. For a €500k yacht that’s €50-75k annually, covering dockage, insurance, maintenance, crew (if any), fuel and hurricane-season contingencies.
Can I see how the yacht performs before buying? Sea trial?
Yes — and we strongly encourage it. Every serious offer is contingent on a sea trial and marine survey. For buyers considering Caribbean ownership, we can also arrange a charter of a similar model so you experience it before you commit.
I'm based outside the Caribbean. Can you still help me?
Yes. Our sourcing is global — Mediterranean, Caribbean, East Coast US and beyond. We manage viewings remotely (video walkthroughs, detailed photo reports) and coordinate in-person inspections through our trusted international network.
